2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Sermon Outline: Ambassadors for the King
Key Texts: 1 Thessalonians 4:8, 2 Samuel 10:1-6
Target Audience: Evangelism Teams
Objective: To remind the team of their divine commission, reframe rejection as a spiritual reality, and empower them with the authority and identity they have in Christ.
Introduction: The Fear and The Truth
(Start with a relatable question)
"Good morning, team. As we prepare to go out, what's the one thing that can tempt us to stay silent? It's the fear of rejection, isn't it? The fear of being dismissed, ridiculed, or despised."
"But what if I told you that when you are rejected, it's often not about you at all? What if we could see that rejection through God's eyes? Our key verse for today gives us this divine perspective:
Read 1 Thessalonians 4:8: 'He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.'"
"This isn't just Paul's opinion. He's drawing on a principle that runs through all of Scripture. To understand the weight of this, we need to go back to the story of a king and his shamed messengers."
Point I: The Commission - You Are Official Representatives
You don't go in your own name; you go as an Ambassador.
Our core identity is found in 2 Corinthians 5:20: "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."
An ambassador doesn't speak their own words; they deliver the message of their king. They don't operate on their own authority, but on the authority of the one who sent them.
Your sending is connected to Christ's own mission.
Jesus said in John 20:21: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
Think about that! The same authority, the same purpose, the same divine backing that Jesus had from the Father, He now extends to us.
Application: "When you step out that door today, you are not just a volunteer. You are a credentialed representative of the King of Kings. You carry a message of reconciliation on His behalf."
Point II: The Co

Remember he is the God of the living, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'[a]? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
