Baruch Chapter 5

 Next Book

1 Put off, O Jerusalem, the garment of mourning and affliction, and put on the comeliness of the glory that cometh from God for ever.

2 Cast about thee a double garment of the righteousness which cometh from God; and set a diadem on thine head of the glory of the Everlasting.

3 For God will shew thy brightness unto every country under heaven.

4 For thy name shall be called of God for ever The peace of righteousness, and The glory of God's worship.

5 Arise, O Jerusalem, and stand on high, and look about toward the east, and behold thy children gathered from the west unto the east by the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the remembrance of God.

6 For they departed from thee on foot, and were led away of their enemies: but God bringeth them unto thee exalted with glory, as children of the kingdom.

7 For God hath appointed that every high hill, and banks of long continuance, should be cast down, and valleys filled up, to make even the ground, that Israel may go safely in the glory of God,

8 Moreover even the woods and every sweetsmelling tree shall overshadow Israel by the commandment of God.

9 For God shall lead Israel with joy in the light of his glory with the mercy and righteousness that cometh from him.

Thank you DSCY222 for sharing here. The bottom line from this thread and indeed all what we discuss here & elsewhere, must always point the reader to God's Word alone - the only repository for Divine Truth and the whole Counsel of God, which is given to us so that we may know Him and be conformed to His Image. When we hold God's Word in such high regard and as our singlular complete foundation of His revealed Will & Purposes, then all other written/verbal offerings come a distant second and must be evaluated against the Bible we hold in our hands.

Any departure from the Truths in the Word, must be rejected without compromise, lest our own hearts be affected and we begin our slow departure from His precious Word. As the beloved apostle stated (1 Peter 5:8), "Be sober, be VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour". And we are not ignorant of his devices, knowing his wily ways, which would certainly include subverting the careless mind and heart through spurious literature. May we always tenaciously hold God's Word in our hearts, being distracted by nothing else, however appealing or intriguing. Blessings to you.

HI Chris.

Your concise and clear explanation is again found in your response. From where I come from, many whom claimed they know everything ( Bible and such ) and yet knows nothing. Their answers are all pluck from the air and they still think they are exclusively defenders of God's words.

I am glad that there are still those who are so wise and humble to response in the most candid manner like you. I am writing these comments with great hope that one of those clowns can stumble upon and examine their own foolishness and stupidity. Have a blessed day all who are reading.
